"I turned the two oak pieces on the lathe, and made a small grove in each one for the strips of walnut," said Jacobson. "I soaked the walnut strips overnight in water to make them flexible enough to twist."
 
Jacobson has been woodworking and woodturning most of his life. He's amassed over 26 million views on his YouTube videos.
