Edgebanding Presses with Pneumatic Clamping Stations

The Mobil 2500 and 3000 Series Edgebanding Press by Hoffmann Machine Co. is designed to quickly and precisely attach solid wood edges to panels made from MDF, particleboard and plywood. The machines are equipped with two heating elements and two (Mobil 2500) or three (Mobile 300) pneumatic clamping stations. Each station features two horizontal clamping cylinders to secure the panels and two vertical short-stroke cylinders to pull the panel down onto the edgebanding strips. Standard white or yellow PVA glue is used in combination with heating elements to attach up to 2” thick and up to 4” tall solid wood edges. No special glue, hardener or catalyst and no splines or additional fasteners are required. Hoffmann says the resulting glue bond is strong enough to remove the panel from the press in 1 to 2 minutes when applying 1” thick wood edges. The Mobil 2500 has two clamping stations (four cylinders) and 8’ working length. The Mobil 3000 has six clamping stations (six cylinders) and 10’ working length. Both models are equipped with an adjustable miter stop for precise mitered corners on items such as restaurant table tops and architectural panels and square corners can also be processed, adds Hoffmann.
