VersaPUR Slug Melters from Nordson efficiently process polyurethane (PUR) hot melt adhesives from 20-liter foil-encased slugs, says the compay. The melter was designed to be easy-to-use and easy-to-clean to simplify PUR use for a wider range of manufacturers, says Nordson. The versatile VersaPUR melters are configurable for specific application requirements. VersaPUR is designed to reduce thermal stress and protect bonding characteristics with melt-on-demand technology, adds Nordson, and minimize or eliminate downtime with two adhesive level warnings. The system features simple set-up and operation with intuitive, graphical touch screen control. Easy cleaning and maintenance is facilitated with smooth, non-stick release-coated surfaces and ready-access panels and components.  Additional features include a pneumatic piston, which provides optimal contact between the adhesive and melting grid to maximize adhesive use from each bag, while minimizing adhesive residue. Sensors, indicators and warnings for piston status, slug status and reservoir level and a variety of variable-speed gear pump options are additonal features with key-to-line availability plus a choice of manual or automatic pressure controls. The VersaPUR Slug Melters can be used in a wide range of applications, including edgebanding and profile wrapping.
