Union Tool’s Veneer/Vinyl Laminating System, incorporates a hotmelt roller coater, powered lay-up conveyor and rotary laminator. Maximum sizes of panels produced can be up to 60” wide by 120” long and 4” thick, says the company. The laminating system runs hand-fed core materials including plywood, MDF and some metals, through a hotmelt roller coater. A semi-automatic layup conveyor moves the coated core to a common edge guide, while the upper and lower rolls fit the veneer and laminated core together. The system also includes a vinyl roll applicator with tension control to eliminate wrinkles in the application of the vinyl to the coated core material, says the company.
