Expanded line of hand planes
Rockler has introduced an expanded line of Bench Dog hand planes with seven new planes and a range of accessories. New models include a No. 7 Jointer Plane for milling boards flat and straight; three models of general-purpose jack planes – a No. 5, a No. 5-1/2, and a No. 62 (low-angle); a No. 4-1/2 Smoothing Plane; and two types of shoulder planes for refining rabbets and tenons – a No. 92 and a 3-in-1 model that can be converted to a bullnose and chisel plane. All Bench Dog planes feature bodies made from ductile iron and soles machined flat to within a tolerance of 0.0015in. to 0.002in. Blades are made from tempered, high-carbon spring steel, fittings are machined from solid brass, and handles are made from durable sapele wood.
