Compact Cordless Reciprocating Saw

DeWalt introduces the new 20V MAX Lithium Ion Compact Reciprocating Saw (DCS387). The reciprocating saw’s applications include remodeling, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC/mechanical applications and general construction. The cordless saw is ideal for cutting through a variety of materials including wood, PVC and metals, says DeWalt. The compact configuration of the DCS387 allows users to make controlled overhead cuts and cuts in tight spaces such as between studs, under sinks and in corners, says the company. DeWalt adds the DCS387 reciprocating saw at 14.5” long is 2.5 inches shorter than the company’s DCS380 cordless reciprocating at a weight of 5.0 lbs. It features a keyless 4-Position Blade Clamp, which allows the user to orient the tool to the type of cut being made with a 4-pole motor and 1 ¼” stroke length for fast cutting (0-2,900 SPM) in a variety of materials, says the company.  Other features include a fixed pivoting shoe an ergonomic handle and an LED light. The DCS387 will be available for sale in October 2014 at a price of $129 for the bare unit (DCS387B) and $259 for the kitted version ( DCS387P1) including the DCB205 5.0 Ah Lithium Ion Battery and charger.
