NuTek Machinery offers Ott edgebanders, which the company says offer an invisible glue-line and have corner rounding speeds of up to 25 meters a minute. The edgebanders are available with EVA and PUR glue pots. Models range from the space-saving 18.5-ft long Pacific to the fully automated TopEdge with a TransEdge Panel Return/Stacking Station. Servo-controlled, the edgebanders are capable of running 0.3-25mm solid wood edges.

Available from Stiles Machinery, the Homag Centateq N-300 CNC machining center is designed for nested-based machining and is available in multiple table configurations. Automated features of the Centateq include a near-zero setup Pro Auto-Set Matrix Table, automated tool changer with integrated loading device, high-speed drilling blocks and multiple material handling configurations. Safety Speed introduces the continuous usage 7400 vertical panel saw, which cuts up to 2 1/8” deep and within 0.005” straight and square. It features three different motor configurations, and heavy extruded beams with a sturdy frame. Standard equipment includes a 3-hp, 3-continuous duty induction saw motor and dual V-rack precision guide system plus adjustable vertical and horizontal rulers, and quick stop gauges. The saw blade features a quick change from vertical to horizontal cutting. It has a Mid-Way Fence and is dust collection-ready. The 7400M panel saw features a 10’ frame and the 7400XL features a 13’ frame.

Thermwood’s Cut Ready Series features an artificial intelligence engine called Artie inside the Cut Ready control. Users tell Artie what they want and the AI engine creates a program to make it. Artie is capable of programming tens of millions of unique products, says the company, and is easy enough to use that it can be used with little or no training. These are not pre-programmed libraries, said Thermwood. The Cut Ready AI feature is currently available on the Cut Ready 43 and the Cut Center.

DC Distributing offers a selection of metal edgebanding featuring a PVC base covered with a real metal foil face, which the company says gives the look and feel of a real metal with the light durability and workability of a PVC. The company’s stocking program includes aluminum, brushed stainless steel, brushed copper, brushed gold and chrome with master rolls sheathed in brushed stainless steel and brushed gold and chrome. Custom widths can be slit in-house up to 5” wide.

The Akron 1100 from Biesse is an entry-level, compact, single-sided edgebander, which is ideal for small-scale artisans, says the company. It features a ROTAX motor from HSD plus dust collection for panel cleaning, a removable glue pot, a rigid structure and linear guidelines with ball bearings to ensure precision. The company adds the compact size of the edgebander saves space in a production area. The standard control is a 7” touchscreen. The machine also gives feedback through reports and statistics, highlighting daily productivity levels, errors and more.

RAMS Industries introduces BioEdge, a biodegradable plant-based edgebanding made in Canada. The organization partners with BioPlastic Solutions, manufacturer of PolyLactic Acid Edgebanding. BioEdge is petroleum free, non-toxic and food safe. It is made from sustainably and renewably sourced sugar cane and is 85% biodegradable and can be discarded in designated composting facilities. BioEdge runs on standard edgebander equipment, requiring no special tooling, and is available in 38 solid colors in standard edgebanding sizes; custom colors can also be specified. BioEdge enables Canadian woodworkers to qualify their furniture components in LEED-certified building projects, the company adds.

New CNC says the Talent T3 machining center optimizes the auto load and unload attachments and is geared toward growing cabinet shops and to manufacturers who have limited space but need to maximize their production. Clean-sweep technology readies the machine to process the next panel. The company adds that one worker operating the machine can produce two full kitchen cabinet assemblies per day.
