I need to make this cut all the way down a four foot 2 x 4. I was thinking a tilt base router could work, but don't want to invest if it won't. These are vertical supports in an octagonal goat house. The slots are for plywood walls. Thanks all!

Hi dear woodworkers:) I’m not a woodworker myself but would like to try and stain this light table top to a kind of walnut color. Is it possible to achieve the same or very similar colors and texture as on the photo by staining it? Would it be hard? I would really appreciate your advice since I can’t find a wooden table top of this color anywhere.
