Hi there. This is my first project and I really need help identifying the kind of wood used so that I know what stain or finish would work best to revive this vintage Victorian chair. I think the chair was made of different kinds of wood because the legs are like a hardwood but the arms and headrest area seems like a softer wood but I do not know enough to judge. Please anyone who can help me identify the wood would help me so much to understand if I can use Ceruse technique on the wood or what stain and finish would compliment the wood best.

I ordered custom vanities for my bathrooms with matching tops. What I was expecting was not what I got. I am asking for help in refinishing them into what they were supposed to look like (image one) Needing a step by step as I have never done anything like this before. Please help! I know that it won’t match 100 percent but that’s a pretty different thing than what they should have made. Thank you!!!!!
