Former Roseburg particleboard plant set to become film studio

MISSOULA, Mont. — A sprawling 47-acre site that once housed a Roseburg Forest Products particleboard facility is set to be transformed into a major film and television production hub.According to the Montana Free Press, the new campus, to be known as The Studios at Story House Montana, will feature five soundstages, post-production suites, commercial workshops, and a backlot designed to resemble an Americana streetscape. Once fully operational, The Studios at Story House Montana is expected to generate 435 full-time jobs.

Hardwood industry advocate and business owner, Stephen E. "Gus" Welter, Jr., has died

Following the sale of Quality Wood Treating where Welter began his career, he continued his employment with Universal Forest Products. In 2012, he purchased Granite Valley Forest Products in Marathon, Wisconsin, and later expanded the business. He also served on the NHLA Board of Directors since 2021, and participated in NHLA's annual convention as an engaged sponsor.
