Flakeboard Signs Dry-resin Blending License Agreement

MARKHAM, ON – Flakeboard and Metso signed a license agreement in January, 2007, regarding the manufacturing equipment and installation of dry-resin blending technology at Flakeboard’s MDF plants in North America. Once the installations are complete, Metso will market and sell this patented technology, branded EVOjet, to MDF plants outside of North and South America, as well as door-skin lines worldwide.

Windsor Windows and Doors Expands

WEST DES MOINES, IA -- Windsor Windows and Doors, a central Iowa manufacturer of windows and doors, has opened a new 100,000-square-foot factory in West Des Moines, adding 125 jobs, according to The Des Moines Register.

Herman Miller Reports Continued Double-Digit Growth

ZEELAND, MI – Herman Miller Inc. has announced its results for the third quarter ended March 3. Sales for the quarter increased 14.3% and orders grew 15.2% from the same period in 2006. The company says the order backlog is at the highest third-quarter level in its history, a 23.4% improvement over the prior-year levels. Net earnings were $32.3 million, an increase of 44.2% over net earnings from the same period of the previous year.

JLE Manufacturing to Build New Arizona Facility

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ -- JLE Manufacturing Inc., an architectural millwork and custom cabinet manufacturer, will build a 27,000-square-foot office and manufacturing facility on a two-acre site at Guadalupe and Meridian, near Apache Junction, in Pinal County, AZ, according to Expansion Management.

Panolam Industries Launches New Contract Design Series

SHELTON, CT – Panolam Industries has contracted with textile designer Noel Ashby to design and develop a new Contract Design Series of laminates, which will debut with five new designs. The Noise Collection will be unveiled at the Hospitality Design Expo in Las Vegas on May 10, and will serve as the first in a series of new designs created by contract designers and artists.
