World's largest wood pellet plant crowned

According to the World Record Academy, the Enviva biomass plant in Waycross, Georgia, narrowly beats out a nearby factory.

WAYCROSS, Ga. — Enviva Partners, LP has completed its previously announced acquisition of a world-class, industrial scale wood pellet production plant in Waycross, Georgia; the newly acquired Waycross plant, which is now called, “Enviva Pellets Waycross,” has been operating since 2011 and has a production capacity of approximately 800,000 metric tons per year, which is a world record for the World's Largest Wood Pellet Plant, according to the World Record Academy.

A nearby competitor is close, according to the Academy, RWE Innogy's Waycross factory reportedly has an annual production capacity of 750,000 tons.
