Workers doubt ATC Panels plant will reopen
FRANKLIN, VA -- Laid-off employees of ATC Panel's particleboard plant in Franklin remain wary about getting their jobs back at the plant that's been idle since October 2008, according to the Tidewater News.

A former employee and union official at the plant told the paper that they do not think ATC Panels' will reopen and that the company may be trying to avoid contractual obligations such as severance pay.

An ATC Panels' spokesman previously told the paper that the company is seeking an investor to help reopen the plant formerly owned by Union Camp. ATC is a division of Aconcagua Holdings BVI based in Chile.
