SACRAMENTO, Calif. — David Ragland, a veteran of the home construction industry, is the new executive director of the Woodwork Institute.

Ragland comes to the Woodwork Institute with more than 35 years of experience having worked for both large, publicly traded home builders as well as smaller privately owned companies. He has extensive experience in land acquisition, land development, home construction and operational management. He has overseen the development of more than 15,000 lots and the delivery of more than 3,500 new homes.

Ragland also has nearly a decade of experience serving on the boards of non-profit organizations. For more than seven years, he has served as a board member, as well as chairman, of the North State Building Industry Association. He also served on the boad of directors of HomeAid, a non-profit group focused on providing housing for the homeless.

Founded in 1951, the Woodwork Institute is a national organization that provides quality assurance programs for architectural millwork.
