Cabinetry design and installation technology news from April's KBIS Kitchen & Bath Industry Show in Las Vegas continues to percolate through the wood industry. First three laser edgebanders sold in U.S.

The first laserTec Homag edgebander in the U.S. has been sold to Fred Smith Store Fixtures, Depauw, IN. Stiles Machinery, distributor of the system, says it has also sold two other laserTec edgebanders into a business furnishings and case goods manufacturer.

Kindel's historic furniture factory gutted by fire
Kindel Furniture's former factory in Grand Rapids, MI went up in flames, destroying a plant that the erstwhile manufacturer called home for nearly 100 years. The fire is a symbolic loss of the "furniture city's" heritage.
