Wood veneer firm practices forest sustainability
Oakwood Veneer Plant It Forward

Oakwood Veneer has paid for thousands of trees to be planted under the Plant It Forward program.

Wildfires. Human damage. Unmanagable plant species growth. These are all issues that result in forest destruction, with no real solution in sight.

However, the cliche of a small step making a big difference also applies to forest reconstruction. Oakwood Veneer Company, a wood veneer supplier, partnered with the National Forest Foundation to help restore forests.

The Plant It Forward program is a forest sustainability initiative that plants a tree in the U.S. for every order placed. At the end of each month, Oakwood Veneer adds all of its orders and donates an equivalent amount of money to the National Forest Foundation. Then, the National Forest Foundation uses the money to plant the same number of trees as ordered. The goal is to reduce the company’s impact on Earth, said Oakwood Veneer

Oakwood Veneer announced that it aims to replenish national forests one order at a time. The company hopes that by participating in the program, it can give back to the environment as well as represent customers’ efforts in sustainable forestry practices.
