Universal Forest Products Finalizes Custom Caseworks AcquisitionGRAND RAPIDS - The acquisition of Custom Caseworks Inc. by Universal Forest Products Inc. has been finalized. UFPI made the announcement on Jan. 2.

UFPI said the purchase of the Sauk Rapids, MN-based store fixture and custom casegoods manufacturer will expand its product offerings and market opportunities. According to the company, Custom Caseworks has annual sales of nearly $7 million and recently added capacity for future growth.

“Custom Caseworks is a proven manufacturer and distributor with a reputation for superior products and service, and we’re pleased to add them to the Universal portfolio of companies,” UFPI CEO Matthew J. Missad said in a statement.

Custom Caseworks president and CEO, John R. Lindholm, will stay with the company as general manager. “We look forward to joining the Universal companies and to capitalizing on the synergies of our respective businesses and operations,” Lindholm said in a statement. “Universal is a respected manufacturer and supplier with significant resources that will help us grow our business to new levels of success. And Custom Caseworks will open new doors of opportunity for Universal. This is an exciting new chapter for our company, our people and our customers.”

Custom Caseworks was founded in 1994. In addition to fixtures and casework, the company manufactures POP displays, office furniture,  laminated and painted wood panels, and OEM-manufactured and private label products. 

The acquisition of Custom Caseworks by UFPI was first announced last month. Founded in 1955, UFPI is a holding company with subsidiaries involved in the design, manufacture and marketing of wood and wood-alternative products.Universal Forest Products Finalizes Custom Caseworks Acquisition
