ARCHBOLD, OH -- Campbell Road Sawmill has been cited for nine safety and health violations stemming from the death of a worker who was struck on the head by a tree.
William Wallace, 51, was killed while performing logging operations on Aug. 4 in Archbold.
OSHA levied proposed fines totaling $27,500 against Spencerville, IN-based Campbell Road Sawmill. Four of the citations were for serious violations including failing to provide leg protection and enforcing the use of eye protection, trees being felled in a manner that created a hazard for workers, failing to evaluate hazardous conditions and failing to establish a clear retreat path during logging operations.
