PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y. - New York-based furniture and rug manufacturer Safavieh is recalling 760 chests because they pose a tip-over and entrapment threat.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says the company's Aura and Silas three-drawer chests are unstable if they are not anchored to a wall. CPSC is pushing for customers to cease using any of the recalled chests not properly anchored. No injuries or deaths have been reported.
The recalls are for three specific models. Each unit is 29 inches tall.
Recalled chests were made in Vietnam and imported to the U.S. by Safavieh. They were sold on Wayfair's website, as well as overstock.com and gilt.com and through retailers. They sold from November 2017 to November 2019 for around $300 each.
The company will provide pre-paid shipping labels and packaging to affected consumers for return. A full refund will be given.
