The American Adhesive Coatings Company, founded in 1987 by Jerry Villa and Ted Krug and currently owned and managed by Gerald Villa Jr., has made the decision to cease operations and, as of January 10, 2024, AACC was no longer operational.
However, Schattdecor of Lexington, South Carolina, has stepped in to service AACC's customers. Schattdecor has had a cooperation agreement with AACC over the last few years to provide AACC's high-quality adhesive to our customers. The official cooperation agreement that went into effect in 2023 included the purchase and relocation of one of AACC’s coating units to the Schattdecor facility in Lexington, South Carolina.
To provide minimal interruption to AACC customers, Schattdecor will transition this business to its facility in South Carolina, providing the same adhesive and service as AACC. Additionally, Dwayne Temples, long-time AACC executive vice president of sales, will continue to provide his knowledge and expertise to this transition since coming on as an independent consultant with Schattdecor in July 2024. Additionally, Kellie Brown, a director at AACC, will assist with the transition on an interim basis as the transition to the facility in South Carolina is accomplished.
"We understand there will be many questions and concerns regarding this transition," said Lance Millican, North American sales manager — finished surfaces, "and, we want to assure all affected customers that we are dedicated to making this changeover as seamless as possible. Our thoughts and well wishes are with the AACC family as they move forward during this time."
To expedite the transition and establish a new account with Schattdecor, contact Millican by email at [email protected] or by phone at 314-616-1561.
