Product highlights from NeoCon 2024

ArtMorph from CECOCECO is an innovative wall panel solution combining high-resolution LED and texture.

CHICAGO - NeoCon 2024, held June 10 to 12 at the Mart in Chicago, featured decorative surfaces, colors, hardware, and the latest trends in commercial design. This year's event showcased materials and finishes that enhance aesthetics and functionality and address sustainability. Textured wall panels and surface treatments that mimic natural elements like wood and stone were particularly popular, as bold, saturated colors and striking patterns are often specified by designers to create vibrant, engaging spaces.

Smart hardware solutions, such as power hubs, integrated lighting and touch-sensitive controls, highlight the seamless blend of technology and design. These elements, combined with new surface treatments and color trends, show how modern decorative surfaces, colors, and hardware transform contemporary interiors.

Following is a sampling of the products displayed during this year’s event.

o    Bleisure: Familiar mid tone colors inspired by travel and adventure.
o    Renew-trals: A new take on neutrals with an earthly, healing quality that lend themselves to tomorrow’s design styles.
o    Grand-Luxe: Both timeless and modern, the deep hues draw inspiration from ancient craftsmanship.
o    AI-sthetic: Soft and subtle pastels that are punctuated with unexpected bright accents.

Mattoboard's online platform for curating material boards.

Also in Behr’s booth was Mattoboard – a 3D virtual sampling platform for designers to curate material boards online before ordering physical samples. The platform incorporates realistic light and shadow to experience materials, products, and color with enhanced texture and details. These digital representations are called VSamples, high-quality 3D models that accurately represent the physical samples designers use to curate material boards. Designers can play with light and shadow to simulate the materials’ real-life qualities, demonstrating how light hits various surfaces, textures, and even paint sheens.

The result is a professional-looking design board that designers can share with their clients or colleagues in seconds through mobile or desktop for an efficient, collaborative experience. Behr Paint colors are now on Mattoboard.
