GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The National Woods Board (NWB) reelected five founding members to its board of directors. In accepting new three-year board terms, each of these visionaries demonstrated their commitment to helping the NWB fulfill its goal to prepare students for successful woodworking careers.
Newly re-elected members of the NWB Board of Directors include:
- Tim Fixmer, CEO of CCI Media, North Liberty, Iowa
- Jason Howell, President and CEO of Lockdowel, Davidson, North Carolina
- John LeTourneau, NWB Chair, retired Workforce Development Consultant/Strategist CO2 Partners, Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Scott Robinson, President, Concepts in Millwork, Colorado Springs, Colorado
- Molly Turner, Woods Manufacturing Instructor, Ignacio High School, Ignacio, Colorado
In addition, two board members who have completed their terms will continue providing their strategic insight, industry expertise, and advisory support to the NWB as Advisory Board Members. They are:
- Thomas Allott, Director of Talent Development, Stiles Machinery of Grand Rapids, Michigan
- Brian Donahue, President, Safety Speed Manufacturing of Ham Lake, Minnesota
At the heart of the NWB is the MiLL Method, a four-level, project-based curriculum advancing students from foundational safety and joinery to professional lean manufacturing. The NWB’s curriculum integrates the Woodwork Career Alliance (WCA) credentials, ensuring that students learn verifiable, job-ready skills. Additionally, the NWB continues to strengthen the bridge between education and industry by cultivating employer partnerships and collaborating with key trade associations to ensure its curriculum meets the diverse needs of the modern woodworking sector.
