LEESBURG, VA -- North American shipments of thermally fused melamine (TFM) panels declined 4.9% to 96 million square feet MMSF in February compared to 101 MMSF last month, according to the Composite Panel Association (CPA).
In addition, CPA said TFM shipments dropped 8.6% from the same month one year ago. CPA also noted that U.S. capacity utilization rates improved 2.0% from February 2010, while Canadian utilization rates decreased 6.9% from February 2010.
TFM decorative panels are widely used by manufacturers of cabinets, furniture, store fixtures and other secondary wood products.
