SCHOPFLOCH, GERMANY – Homag Group AG, which has previously pledged to exhibit at Xylexpo 2010 May 4-8 in Milan, Italy, released a statement detailing its decision.

The company said it never gave thought to following SCM, Biesse and Cefla to pull out of Xylexpo and exhibit at Technodomus, which takes place April 20-24 in Rimini instead.

"It is regrettable that the decision by the biggest Italian manufacturers to pull out of the Xylexpo has caused major consternation in the Italian trade fair landscape, which is certainly not conducive for the Italian marketplace at this time. For the Homag Group at any rate, our attendance at the Xylexpo is not up for discussion“, said Jürgen Köppel, sales and servicing director for Homag.
 
Köppel cited several key reasons for why his company is staying the course including the high quality of the Xylexpo, its premium location, the excellent infrastructure, long tradition, efficient organization and high degree of familiarity of this long-standing trade fair.
