Get your entry in --Young Wood Pros deadline is January 5

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- One of the highlights of Wood Pro Expo Charlotte will be a reception that acknowledges the Top 5 vote-getters of the Young Woodworking Professionals competition.  The winner of the competition will be announced at the Woodworking Network booth on Feb. 15 at 4:00 p.m. Wood Pro Expo Charlotte takes place Feb. 14-16 at the Charlotte Convention Center.
 
Entries are being accepted for the popular Young Woodworking Professionals competition, which recognizes outstanding projects and the young wood pros that created them. The free competition kicks off Young Woodworking Professionals week, Woodworking Network's salute to woodworkers ages 18-35, which takes place Jan. 8-12.
 
Between now and Jan. 5, simply post your project and a brief description on Twitter, Instagram or at Woodworking Network's Facebook page, using #YWPweek. When posting on Twitter or Instagram, be sure to mention @WoodworkingBiz (Twitter) and @WoodworkingNetwork (Instagram).
 
Any type of project can be entered, including cabinetry, furniture, millwork or simply artistic. Qualifying entries will be voted on by fans Jan. 8-12 on Woodworking Network's Facebook page. 
 
The winner also will get a write-up on WoodworkingNetwork.com and mentioned in publications.
 
This is the third year that Woodworking Network has hosted this event. Previous Young Wood Pro Award winners were Martin Goebel of Goebel & Co. Furniture for his classic table featuring World War II surplus, aircraft-grade sugar pine, and Dylan Horst for his undulating ash and benge Wave table.
 
Important dates & information
Jan. 5: Deadline for posting your project on Twitter, Instagram or the Woodworking Network Facebook page, using #YWPweek. Don't forget to mention @WoodworkingBiz (Twitter) and @WoodworkingNetwork (Instagram).
Jan. 8-12: Fan voting on the gallery of qualifying entries, posted on Woodworking Network's Facebook page. The five pictures with the most "Likes" will be named finalists.
Feb. 14-16: The five finalists will be recognized at Wood Pro Expo Charlotte, with the winner announced at the Woodworking Network booth on Feb. 15, at 4:00 p.m.
To qualify: Entrants must be professional woodworkers between the ages of 18-35.
