Gary George Opens Furniture Plant in High PointHIGH POINT, NC – Gary George Designs Inc. will open a manufacturing facility in High Point, NC, to produce upholstered furniture for the residential, contract and hospitality markets. Between 25-30 new jobs are expected to be added with the startup of the 8,800-square-foot location.

The new plant is expected to be operational within the next month. Gary George Designs also has a manufacturing facility in Long Island, NY.

The company said it added the second plant to accommodate dealer needs. Based in New York, Gary George Designs participates in the High Point market and has showroom space at the International Home Furnishings Fair. The company produces furniture in modern, contemporary and traditional styles, with a five to seven week turnaround on standard orders.

“Creating glamorous comfortable upholstery furniture is paramount to my collection,” company President Gary Buxbaum said in a statement. “Showing our furniture at the High Point Market is so important. Now having our furniture made in High Point will only enhance our collection’s reputation. The ‘High Point brand’ has impressive cachet in all sectors of the furniture industry and with the general public.”

In addition to George, Stanley Jay Friedman and M. Fillmore Harty are product designers for the company.

Gary George Designs worked with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the High Point Economic Development Corp. in selecting the site.
