Frama-Tech launches digitally printed edgebanding production line

DALLAS — Frama-Tech, a provider of surface solutions for the woodworking and architectural industries, has launched its "groundbreaking digitally printed edgebanding capability," which it says is the "first and only of its kind manufactured in North America." This innovative technology, based in Dallas, Texas, allows designers, fabricators, and laminate brands to break free from the constraints of traditional edgebanding limitations.

With the introduction of this new digital printing capability, Frama-Tech addresses a major pain point in the specification process: unavailability of matching edgebanding. Designers and architects often resort to value engineering when a matching edgeband is not available. Now, with fully customizable digitally printed designs, those compromises can be a thing of the past. Frama-Tech enables precise, made-to-order edges that align with even the most niche or newly launched surfaces.

Edges as a design feature
Digitally printed edgebanding is no longer just a match—it’s a design element. Frama-Tech’s process allows for endgrain, crossgrain, plywood edge-look, and complex pattern visuals to be integrated directly into the design intent. Specifiers can now fully realize creative visions without being limited by what’s in stock.

Frama-Tech is working closely with leading TFL and HPL brands to align with new color and texture launches, empowering those brands to “go wild” with bold, unconventional designs. With Frama-Tech’s rapid and responsive production, matching edgebanding is no longer an afterthought—it’s built into the creative process from the beginning.

“Our digitally printed edgebanding removes the bottlenecks that have historically limited design,” said Randy Meulenberg, National Product Management & Specification at Frama-Tech. “By producing this in Dallas, we offer 7-18 day lead times, no minimums, and the flexibility North American fabricators have been waiting for.”
