TORRANCE, Calif. - Doug Mockett & Co.'s 32nd Annual Design Competition is well underway. Entries will be accepted until September 5.

Each year the company seeks innovative ideas in furniture parts, components, accessories and hardware. "Even if you think your idea is too prosaic, dull, unusual or 'not good enough,' we urge you to send it in and let us be the judge of that," the company says.

To enter send a clear write-up about the idea. Drawings and models are also accepted. No professional credentials are required.

First Place entries are awarded $1,000, an engraved achievement trophy, and a royalty based on sales, with no limit to the number of First Place awards, Mockett adds.
