LEESBURG, VA --  The Composite Panel Association has updated its list of CARB-compliant products offered by more than 40 companies.

The list includes compliant sources of particleboard, MDF, and hardwood plywood panels manufactured or used by companies in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The list also includes suppliers of hardboard, which is exempt from the CARB Rule governing formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products.

The CPA has been a third-party certifier (TPC) recognized by California for CARB compliance since May 2008. CPA conducts certification testing of particleboard, MDF and hardwood plywood to ensure they meet the CARB Rule. CPA also operates an Ultra-Low Emitting (ULEF) and No Added Formaldehyde (NAF) Audit Program for those panel manufacturers seeking a CARB exemption for their ULEF or NAF products.

The list of compliant sources and information about the CARB Rule are available at CARBrule.org, a website created by the CPA to help composite panel manufacturers and their customers to understand the regulation.
