CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Woodworking Network is pleased to announce that it has engaged the services of woodworking industry veteran Rich Christianson to Woodworking Machinery & Supply Conference & Expo (WMS), Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in Mississauga, Ontario; Wood Pro Expo (WPE), Oct. 17-18, in Lancaster, Pa.; and other Woodworking Network productions.

Christianson will leverage his nearly 35 years of experience writing about the woodworking industry to provide a steady flow of audience-engaging content and marketing services to support the success of Woodworking Network’s impressive line-up of trade shows and conferences, which also includes the Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo (CCCE) co-located with WPE in Arlington, Texas,  March 11-13, 2020; Salon Industriel du Bois Ouvré (SIBO), April 23-25, 2020, in Drummondville, Quebec; and the Executive Briefing Conference (EBC), Nov. 8-10, 2020, in Colorado Springs, Colo.

During his long tenure, Christianson has toured more than 250 woodworking operations throughout North America, Europe and Asia and has written extensively on woodworking technology, design and supply trends. He has also directed and promoted dozens of woodworking trade shows, conferences and seminars including the Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo and WMS, Canada’s largest woodworking event.

“We are excited to have Rich join our team,” said Tim Fixmer, president and CEO of Woodworking Network. “By leveraging Rich’s vast industry experience and intimate knowledge of managing and promoting woodworking events we enhance our ability to orchestrate successful events for our exhibitors and our attendees. Growing our events offerings in the North American woodworking industry is key to our company strategy, and Rich will help us achieve that objective.”

“Having previously worked with Rich for nearly three decades, I know firsthand the dedication and passion he brings to serving the woodworking industry,” said Harry Urban, publisher of Woodworking Network. “I’m sure he will bring that same high level of audience engagement to help propel our events.”

“I’m thrilled to reunite with Woodworking Network to help out, including with some of the events that I was personally associated with including WMS and the Cabinets & Closets Conference & Expo,” said Christianson, owner of Richson Media LLC, a Chicago-based communications firm focused on the industrial woodworking sector. “I have a deep appreciation for the power and importance of events to connect wood product manufacturers and suppliers so that they can grow their businesses and ultimately advance this great industry.”
