Woburn, Mass. – Emily Vella of Atlantic Plywood has been named the president of the 2022 North American Building Materials Distributors Association (NBMDA). In her role as Regional Formica Product Manager at Atlantic Plywood, a subsidiary of Parksite Inc., Vella brings more than 12 years of industry experience to the NBMDA organization.

Her role with the organization is to govern, establish policy, and make decisions about the future of the organization, ensuring that the board and staff stay focused on advancing their strategic objectives. Vella began her NBMDA leadership evolution as vice president and served two years as president-elect due to the pandemic. Atlantic Plywood’s CFO, Wayne Moriarty, also acts as treasurer of the MBMDA Board.

“We are proud to see Emily recognized for her integrity, decision making and objectivity to serve such an important role in our industry. With Emily’s expertise and experience, she will continue to be a great asset to NBMDA in this leadership role,” stated Tony Millhouse, Vice President of Parksite.

Vella, based out of Atlantic’s Massachusetts location, said, "I am deeply honored to be recognized by my peers for the nomination. It is an incredible privilege and I’m looking forward to bringing a new perspective to our industry. Personal relationship building and developing new business contacts is at the heart of the NBMDA value proposition and we have some exciting initiatives planned for the next year.”

With 23 locations and over 750 employee-owners, Parksite firmly believes their competitive advantage is directly attributable to their employees. According to CEO, Ron Heitzman, "Every one of our Associates is an owner and dedicated to contributing to the success of both our customers and our suppliers. The commitment and excitement that is generated when everyone is an owner is extraordinary."
