BIFMA Office Furniture Forecast Continues Up Through 2016

GRAND RAPIDS - U.S. office furniture production should reach $10.4 billion in 2016, according to the latest IHS Global Insight industry forecast model used by the Business & Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association.

IHS estimates U.S. office furniture will hit $10.2 billion this year, up 4.0% from 2014.

Consumption of office furniture also is expected to increase significantly in 2015 and 2016, to $13.0 billion (+7.0%) and $14.0 billion (+7.4%) respectively. BIFMA's IHS forecast distinguishes total consumption of business furniture, as well as product - the difference reflecting the value of manufacturered goods sold and incorporating imported business furniture volume.
