EIGHTY FOUR, Pa. — 84 Lumber honored two associates as winners of its 2025 End-of-Year Team Headquarters (THQ) Awards, recognizing exceptional leadership, innovation, and impact across the organization.
Glenn Mauder, lead learning designer in the 84 Lumber’s training and development department, received the Business Excellence Award. Mauder joined 84 Lumber in January 2019 as a learning designer and was promoted to his current role in December 2024. He was recognized for several recent initiatives including the design, development, and implementation of the company’s advanced window training program, sales reporting resources, and sales coordinator training.
“Glenn has helped expand and shape training and development at the company,” said Sue Kasko, director of training and development. “He has led projects and built learning solutions across all areas of the company that has supported associates in stores, component plants, and THQ. Glenn spends time understanding the unique needs of whoever he works with and works hard to develop creative approaches that work for that specific audience.”
84 Lumber’s Rising Star Award went to Jessica Badstibner, Sign Shop operations manager. The award recognizes up-and-coming associates who have made a significant impact on their team. Badstibner joined 84 Lumber in April 2023 as a merchandising manager in the merchandising department. She was promoted to her current role in August 2023.
“Jess’s passion for positively promoting the 84 Sign Shop is incredible,” said Thom Kuntz, director of merchandising. “She is someone who does more than required and always with a smile. She inspires excellence among those around her, and her attitude towards our culture is contagious and fun.”
The THQ Awards were launched in 2022 and held biannually, allowing associates at 84 Lumber’s team headquarters to nominate colleagues for recognition. Nominations are reviewed by the company’s leadership team which then selects award recipients.
