KCMA announces staff promotions

Lisa Samuels

RESTON, Va. — The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association has announced two staff promotions.

Lisa Samuels has been promoted to vice president of Marketing, Membership, and Meetings. In the two years since Samuels joined the KCMA team, she has proven to be an excellent association leader, the group said, adding that she has stepped up in areas far outside her original scope as the Director of Marketing & Communications.

Samuels has taking leadership roles in membership and meetings operations, along with working to better utilize the tools we have to manage those areas. She also took on managing Mujahid Tarshi’s position, helping to teach him best practices in contract negotiations, meeting logistics, and member customer service.

"Those of you who have met Lisa know she is energetic and enthusiastic about providing the most value and best experience for our members," the association said. "She takes your feedback to heart, reminds us where our priorities should be based on that feedback, and ensures that we do all we can to exceed your expectations."

Mujahid Tarshi is now the senior manager of Meetings & Membership. This is Tarshi’s second promotion since joining the KCMA family just over 3 years ago - strong recognition of his professional growth during his tenure here.

Tarshi was originally hired as a program assistant to handle administrative tasks in support of the team, the association said. "He quickly stepped up and leaned into every area where the team needed help. His contributions have far exceeded all expectations, and though he reports to Lisa and has taken on the lion’s share of event planning and membership management, he still provides additional support to finance operations, certification management, and our CEO as needed.

"Whether it’s preparing committee books or negotiating a large contract with a posh resort, the team knows they can count on Mujahid to deliver the best outcome for KCMA."
