100 firefighters battle wood finishing blaze
Anderson Finishing

LOUISVILLE - A three-alarm fire destroyed Anderson Finishing's 80,000-square-foot wood finishing plant on August 27. The building was a total loss.

Sparked by a lightning strike, officials say the fire was made worse by the plant's chemicals, paints, and solvents. More than 100 firefighters were needed.

No injuries were reported.

Anderson specializes in finishing solid wood and composite product for furniture, moulding, stair parts, cabinets, casegoods, and flooring. The company is partnered with Anderson Wood Products, a manufacturer of hardwood component parts.
