Extending luxury living spaces

While luxury closets are becoming the sanctuary of a home, homeowners are also looking to elevate even the most mundane areas with a luxury touch, creating an overall visual appeal clients desire.

Many closet and cabinet companies are catching on to this shift. For instance, German manufacturer Häcker Kitchens has adapted its precision engineered modular system, the systemat line, for use beyond the kitchen and pantry, offering a flexible and customizable cabinetry solution especially in adjacent living areas.

By using the same cabinetry frameworks and finishes found in high end kitchens, designers are now able to create laundry rooms and drop zones as an integrated part of the home’s overall interior design.

Häcker said its strength lies in intelligent storage and task-oriented cabinetry, and in laundry and utility rooms its specialized tall units feature integrated sorting compartments that allow users to separate laundry at the source. These systems are paired with adaptable interior storage solutions, including pullouts, internal drawers, tiered shelving and modular organization inserts.

Lighting solutions offer additional touches that are not only becoming standard in kitchen and closet designs but in laundry rooms as well. Integrated LED lighting within drawers, cabinets and open shelving improves visibility, making it easier to locate items, even in lower-light environments. Task lighting beneath wall units or within work zones supports activities such as folding, sorting and cleaning.
