Corbin Clay of Azure Furniture, near Denver, explains why his company chose to build a line of furniture from beetle-kill pine. Forests damaged by beetles are a terrible eyesore and fire hazard. Corbin is taking something that would otherwise be useless timber and making beautiful heirloom-quality furniture from it. He also explains the role tools have in making Azure Furniture more efficient and profitable. What used to take 30 minutes with a hollow chisel mortiser now takes about 3 minutes with a Festool Domino XL Joiner. Clay will be speaking at the Woodworking Inventor's form at the International Woodworking Fair 2014, August 19.
