Stiles Machinery Inc. held a manufacturing solutions seminar at its showroom and finishing lab in High Point, North Carolina.

More than 100 woodworkers attended the two-day seminar June 9-10, learning from experts about best practices and manufacturing trends and seeing demonstrations on the latest technologies in panel processing and solid wood manufacturing. The information provided was meant to set attendees up for success at the upcoming IWF.

“Having this event prior to IWF is really crucial for woodworkers looking for the best solution for their manufacturing process,” says Chris Dolbow, marketing manager at Stiles Machinery. “It offers them a head start on understanding the competitive advantages of the new technologies they will experience in our booth at the IWF fair this August.”

Attendees at the event witnessed trend-setting construction methods demonstrated for both frameless and face frame cabinet construction and furniture manufacturing. Experts showcased a variety of manufacturing work flows that combined innovative applications and software in material sizing, machining, edgebanding and inventory management - all of which will be on display in Atlanta at the Stiles booth. Advanced technologies in solid wood manufacturing provided attendees with a first-hand look at self-centering planers, state-of-the-art defect scanning solutions and the latest in millwork processing developments to drive quality and yield optimization.

Visitors also received information from trending topics including ‘Industry 4.0’ for data-driven manufacturing and maintaining machine longevity through preventative maintenance and tooling. This was the second in a series of three anufacturing solutions seminars that Stiles will host this year, with the next event scheduled for the middle of November.
