THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Whitewood Industries, manufacturer and distributor of casegoods and upholstered furniture, has purchased a showroom in downtown High Point, North Carolina. The company has showcased goods there since 2000.

Records show that Whitewood bought the building for $2.8 million from Merchandise Mart LLC in September.

The showroom is the firm's third acquisition within the past year. Whitewood Industries purchased a 78,000 sq. ft. warehouse in Thomasville over the summer, and a 39,000 sq. ft. building in High Point last October. The company’s total operational footprint is 578,000 sq. ft.

The building at 215 South Main St. was originally built by US Furniture Industries’ founder and owner, Stanley Taylor.

Company officials say the recently purchased Thomasville showroom is one of the most desired real estate locations in High Point Market’s popular Commerce to Green Street quadrant. It was originally built by U.S. Furniture Industries’ founder and owner, Stanley Taylor.

Since the company originally started showcasing furniture at this location in 2000, it has evolved into a distributor of bedroom, occasional, and home furniture. Whitewood employs 250 workers. The company owns John Thomas Furniture and International Concepts, a supplier of furniture to specialty retailers.
