ROCKVILLE, Md. - Classic American design furniture of Ethan Allen is being sold at a new Design Center that features an innovative display concept to showcases the company’s new interactive design service.

Ethan Allen’s user-friendly Design Center layout brings its robust website to life. An open floor plan featuring design stations and large touchscreens invites clients to work directly on projects with the company’s design professionals in a space outfitted with the latest technology.

The new Design Center opened its doors today and represents a new direction for the 83-year-old brand. "This is an Ethan Allen some people may not recognize," says CEO Farooq Kathwari. "The products are relaxed and relevant to today's lifestyles, the technology on the floor is state-of-the-art, and the Design Center itself is located where our clients live and play."

A similar Design Center opened in Hyannis, Massachusetts two weeks ago. Ethan Allen is transitioning much of its retail to digitall driven design centers.

Separately, Ethan Allen announced it has acquired the similar Design Cetner in South Calgary following the retirement of its longtime partner there, Bill Cook of Cookhouse Interiors.

"Bill Cook and his family have been associated with Ethan Allen in Canada for more than 30 years, and we wish them well in their future endeavors" said Kathwari.
