SALT LAKE CITY – Online home furnishings retailer Overstock will now offer free shipping on all orders. No subscriptions or annual fees are required, and there are no price or size caps.

Overstock's president of retail, Dave Nielsen, said in a statement, "Free shipping is typically only available through an annual subscription fee or a minimum purchase price. Overstock has removed these requirements for customers during tough economic times and ahead of the holiday season."

Overstock first initiated the program at the onset of the pandemic. The company said it immediately saw a surge in orders for both new and existing customers.

The program likely serves as a way to compete with Amazon, which offers free shipping for members of its Prime program, which costs $119 for a year subscription. Walmart is also trying to compete with its Walmart+, which costs $99 annually.

Overstock.com, Inc. is an American internet retailer headquartered near Salt Lake City founded in 1999. It offers home furniture, decor, flooring, rugs, appliances, and more.
