LANCASTER, PA -- Martin's Woodworking Machinery of Dundee, NY, will display the Northtech SLR-14SC straight line ripsaw at Wood Pro Expo Lancaster Oct. 17-18. The machine is capable of processing boards up to 18 in. wide into strips as thin as 3/16 in. thick. The SLR-14SC has a maximum depth of cut of 3-1/8 in. when using a 14-inch blade.
Equipped with a 15-hp variable saw motor and a 1.5-hp feed motor, the ripsaw can operate at speeds ranging from 40 to 140 fpm.
Other features include: True Track chain and race; 69 in. x 35-1/2 in. x 33-1/2 in. table; industrial fence with cam lock quick release on rack and pinion glide; two rows of heavy-duty kickback fingers and eight large pressure rollers to optimize optimum glue line ripping.
Martin's Woodworking will also display the Northtech NT-24 single surface planer. It features 24-in. helical head with six rows of 15mm x 15mm x 2.5mm four-way carbide inserts. Northtech says the sprial cutterhead provides high chip removal rate and superior surface finish at low noise levels.
