OSHKOSH, Wi. - Fox Valley Technical College will present a two-day wood manufacturing technology open house in Oshkosh, Wisconsin next week. Around 400 students are expected to attend.

All woodworking operations within 120 miles of Oshkosh are encouraged to attend.

"The groups that attend will spend around 90 minutes in our lab with our college students guiding the high school students through a series of activities utilizing most of the $2,000,000 worth of equipment at our disposal," says Fox Valley instructor Mark R. Lorge.

The students will be using a Razor Gage up-cut saw, a Raimann gang-rip saw, a Weinig Powermat 500 molder, a Komo VR510 CNC router, an Altendorf WA-80 sliding panel saw, a Gannomat horizontal boring machine, a Maxym CNC mortise/tenoner and other equipment to make a Stickley inspired occasional table.

The open house will take place October 23-24 from 8:30 am until 1 pm.

Since 1988, Fox Valley's program has taught more than 20,000 students.
