New Braunfels, Tex. – Homes for Our Troops and Rev-A-Shelf's own Bryant Chappel welcomed Army Specialist Edgar Barrera and his family to their new home on Friday, June 10th, in New Braunfels, Texas. Army SFC Edgar Barrera lost both legs and his left hand to an improvised explosive device blast, July 7, 2012, in Afghanistan on his third combat deployment.  When recalling the ordeal in front of his family and well wishers, SFC Barrera said: "the sacrifices he made in the army are ones he would choose again." Lucia, Edgar's wife, said that with his newfound space and thoughtfully designed home, he has gotten his independence back and for that she will be forever grateful.

Rev-A-Shelf is proud to be a three-year national sponsor of the nonprofit organization, Homes for Our Troops (HFOT), which builds specially adapted, mortgage-free home nationwide for severely injured Veterans of Post 9/11, to enable them to rebuild their lives.
