TOKYO - Hettich, a manufacturer of cabinet and furniture hardware, has earned the use of the "G-Mark" symbol for its SlideLine M sliding door system with the 2017 Good Design Award from the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.

The award was presented at the Good Design Exhibition which took place from Nov. 1-5, 2017 in Tokyo, Japan. Said to be one of the most prestigious design recommendations, the "G-Mark" symbol stands for product excellence in terms of functionality and performance, and the Good Design Award is Japan's widely known acknowledgement of outstanding product design. The institute says Japanese consumers place their trust in the "G-Mark" symbol because it is an important guide in deciding which product to buy.

The award-winning SlideLine M was displayed at such events as the Tokyo exhibition and at interzum 2017 in Cologne, Germany. Suitable for all common furniture constructions, Hettich says the SlideLine M can optimize plain shelving units by creating new constellations of open and closed elements as the doors can be moved from one position to another.

Hettich is a family-owned business based in Kirchlengern, Germany with offices around the globe.
