WILMINGTON, N.C. – MarKraft President Cee Edwards named Chris Edwards to the post of Executive Director of the Apex Division of MarKraft Cabinets.

The two cabinetry professionals are also brothers. Cee Edwards credits his brother with getting him his start at MarKraft.
When he was a college student, Chris Edwards spent a summer delivering cabinets for MarKraft. In 1994, Chris joined the company as a full-time salesperson. By 1999, he was helping CEO Joe Jacobus open and manage MarKraft stores in other locations – first Shallotte, then Myrtle Beach, in North Carolina.

During his early tenure at MarKraft, Chris encouraged his younger brother, Cee, to join the company too. Cee Edwards, now President of MarKraft, never left, while Chris left in 2001 to explore the dealer channel of the cabinetry industry, working with MasterBrand Cabinets and UltraCraft. In addition to corporate roles including regional sales manager, Chris also founded two independent rep agencies with large, high volume territories spanning North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee

Throughout his career  Chris always maintained a strong relationship with MarKraft as a customer of the products he represented. He also introduced MarKraft executives to another of his customers, Apex Cabinets. That introduction eventually translated into MarKraft’s acquisition of the Apex-based business in 2017.

“We’re delighted that the timing was right for Chris to return to the MarKraft family," said MarKraft president Cee Edwards. "His breadth of knowledge in the industry makes him ideally suited for his role as director of the Apex division. He understands every facet of the industry, and because he’s worked in both the builder direct and dealer channels, he has a wealth of contacts.”

Chris Edwards notes, "Cee has built a great team with strong integrity. And, I’m honored to now have the opportunity to work alongside my brother, coaching and growing a new generation as Joe Jacobus once groomed us.”

MarKraft has over 115 employees across states in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. MarKraft supplies cabinetry, countertop and design elements for kitchens and baths, working with professionals in all phases of building – architects and designers, builders and contractors, decorators and homeowners. www.markraft.com
