AUSTIN, TX –- Temple-Inland Inc. reported third quarter 2006 net income of $96 million or $0.87 per diluted share, compared with third quarter 2005 net income of $38 million or $0.33 per diluted share. HOLLAND, MI – Gerrard W. Haworth, the founding chairman of Haworth Inc., died Oct. 25 at the age of 95. He established Haworth Inc. in 1948 as a garage-shop venture. Haworth is survived by his wife and five children.

EAST GREENVILLE, PA – Knoll Inc. announced results for the third quarter, which ended Sept. 30. Net sales were $243.6 million for the quarter, an increase of 16.4% from third quarter 2005. Operating income was $30.2 million, an increase of 14.8% from the third quarter 2005. Net income for the quarter was $15.6 million, compared to $8.2 million in the same period last year.

ST. LOUIS, MO -- Furniture Brands Int'l. announced its second quarter results Wednesday, July 26. The company reported net sales for the second quarter of $601.3 million, compared to $593.8 million in the second quarter of 2005, which is an increase of 1.3%. Net earnings were $17.0 million for the second quarter, up from $9.6 million of the same period last year. Net sales for the first half of 2006 were $1.262 billion, which was an increase of 2.2% from $1.235 billion in the first half of 2005.

AUSTIN, TX -- Temple-Inland Inc. reported second quarter 2006 net income of $192 million compared with second quarter 2005 net income of $69 million.
