Omnitech to Open Tech-Center in Tempe, AZ

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Omnitech Systems Inc., a manufacturer of woodworking machinery, will open a tech-center in Tempe, AZ for support to its West Coast dealer network and customer base in the western states. The tech-center will be staffed with CNC technicians and feature professional and applications-oriented demonstrations on the company's SELEXX line of CNC Routers.

WDMA Names New President

DES PLAINES, IL -- The Window and Door Manufacturers Assn. (WDMA), a trade organization of window, door and skylight manufacturers, has named Joel R. Hoiland as its new president. Hoiland most recently served as president and CEO of the International Warehouse Logistics Assn. (IWLA). He succeeds acting president, Jeffrey Lowinski, who will return to his position as WDMA's Vice President of Technology Marketing.

Vecoplan Announces Affiliate Company

ARCHDALE, NC -- Vecoplan LLC, a manufacturer and distributor of industrial shredding and grinding equipment, announced on Sep. 22 the opening of Vecoplan Midwest LLC in Floyds Knobs, IN. Vecoplan Midwest will serve as the sales and distribution arm of Vecoplan equipment for parts of Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Illinois. Technical service capabilities for customer support will be added in the near future.

Second Dubai Woodshow Scheduled for February 2007

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES -- The Dubai International Wood & Wood Machinery Show is slated to return to the Dubai World Trade Center for another showing after the success of the inaugural 2006 show, according to AME Info. The report states that the event's size and scale will increase triple over the premier show, which had 75 regional and international firms from 15 countries exhibiting. Nearly 90 percent of last year's exhibitors have already reserved space.
