SHER-WOOD SB Spray Stain System
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sherwin-Williams, through its Product Finishes Division, has launched the SHER-WOOD SB Spray Stain System, a sprayable, high production alternative to traditional wipe stains for application on interior bare wood.
Eliminating the need to wipe the stain greatly simplifies and accelerates the finishing process. The direct single-step spray application to wood surfaces increases line speed and throughput by reducing handling time and waste.
The fast-dry solvent-based blend provides manufacturers with batch-to-batch color consistency within tight tolerances and significantly reduces mismatched components as well as the need for rework.  The stain bases are custom blend formulas that also increase the speed of application, cutting material handling times.
This pigment ratio is carefully optimized for excellent clarity, color, and has anti-settling characteristics. This will enhance color dispersion and stability while increasing workability and consistency.
“The SHER-WOOD SB Spray Stain System offers manufacturers of kitchen cabinets, furniture, plus store fixtures and architectural woodwork the ability to realize color consistency and achieve greater efficiencies on the shop floor,” said Joe Kujawski, Global Director of Marketing, Wood Finishes. “It delivers a high production alternative to traditional wipe stains and produces clean, vibrant colors that are repeatable, batch-to-batch.  It all leads to time savings and greater efficiency for the manufacturer.”
