Sander with three sanding stations

The Roba Orbital 3T orbital sanding system from MB Machinery replaces three robotic stations with three sanding stations on one machine. The 3T offers one-man operation for optimal, fast workflow.

The workpieces are reliably fixed to the work table by a powerful vacuum system, which enables stable and safe processing, the company says. At the start of the sanding process, the workpiece is automatically measured in three dimensions using laser sensors. In a matter of seconds, the system recognizes both the frame widths and deeper recesses, and adapts the processing precisely to the respective geometry.

For particularly time-saving series production, it is possible to measure just the first piece. This speeds up the process without sacrificing precision. All sanding parameters can be freely and individually adjusted to the respective application – for optimal results and for a wide range of requirements.

Another technical advantage is the direct dust extraction during the sanding process. In combination with the use of mesh abrasives, clogging of the abrasives is effectively prevented, which not only ensures consistent high quality sanding, but also significantly extends the service life of the abrasives.

The machine is ideal for sanding MDF panels – whether for subsequent foil coating or a lacquered surface – as well as for solid wood frame panels where cross scratches from previous wide belt sanding need to be removed. It is also ideal for intermediate lacquer sanding of flat components.
This technology brings precision, speed and cleanliness to your production – and raises your surface processing to a new level.

Each sanding station has an automatic abrasive changer with a tear-off station for the used abrasive and a magazine for the new sanding discs. The machine can be equipped with different sanding units.

  • Round orbital sanding tool D = 150 mm
  • Rectangular orbital sanding tool 81 x 133 mm
  • Rectangular orbital sanding tool 115 x 230 mm

Sanding units are available in different strokes in order to configure the process as optimally as possible.
